Toyota’s Raize leaks month before its actual unveiling

Next month Toyota will introduce an all-new compact crossover, meant to slot in underneath the C-HR.

It’s called the Raize and a few images of this new compact car were leaked online recently. The images appear to be from dealer marketing material.

As you can see, there’s no mistaking it for anything but a Toyota, even though it’s based on a Daihatsu platform.

Daihatsu’s New Global Architecture is basically a more affordable version of Toyota’s TNGA platform.

According to the leaked specifications, the Raize is 3995mm long and 1620mm wide.

Rumour has it, the Raize will be powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. Base models will likely be equipped with a manual, while top-spec models will likely come standard with a CVT gearbox.

More info will become available as soon as it makes its actual debut.
