Known as one of the toughest rallies in the world, the Acropolis Rally of Greece forms part of the FIA European Championship Rally.
Latvian driver Ralfs Sirmacis won his first main-class ERC event without any problems but local driver Lambros Athanassoulas pushed hard to take second place by 0.1 seconds in front of Jaromir Tarabus. When he arrived Lambros was unsure of his position and the day’s racing proved to be a bit overwhelming for the poor guy who desperately wanted to do well on home soil.
Eurosport published this interview on their Facebook page with a soundtrack that some may argue matches the Greek rally driver’s display of emotion, or perhaps it was just an attempt at humour and milking the display on social media.
