The new T-Cross Breeze concept offers a first look at a newly developed model series as Volkswagen plans to add three more SUVs in its line-up and offer an “exciting product” in every relevant segment.
This exterior design shouts sporty, funky and on trend and carries the new Volkswagen design DNA. In particular the square front headlights stand out from the crowd. Its rear end has a wide boot lid, with integrated LED rear lights, that opens up to reveal an easy load area of nearly 300 liters.
The German manufacturer wants to capture the idea that buttons and switches are superfluous and the cabin of the T-Breeze displays this, with the designers concentrating on creating a spacious interior with clean lines.
The engine in this concept isa 1.0-litre 8okW turbocharged direct injection petrol engine producing 175Nm of maximum torque from 1,500 rpm. The T-Cross Breeze is front wheel drive making use of a 7-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox.
“At the moment the T-Cross Breeze is purely a concept, but we can well imagine putting such a convertible on the market as a production model”, said Herbert Diess, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG.
