The new Volvo XC90 has continued to scoop up awards with the latest at the inaugural Cars.co.za Consumer Awards held in Johannesburg on 14 January 2016.
The new Volvo XC90 was named Premium SUV of the Year. The awards were given to the vehicles that “represent the best buys in their respective categories in South Africa, influenced by real, credible consumer input,” according to Cars.co.za.
The Volvo was also applauded for being the most-nominated vehicle in the competition with no less than three category nominations overall. The new Volvo XC90 is also a finalist in the 2016 WesBank/ SAGMJ Car of the Year competition, the winner of which is due to be announced in March.
Greg Maruszewski, Managing Director of Volvo Car South Africa commented, “We are very proud of how the new Volvo XC90 is being accepted and celebrated by the media and consumers alike, both in South Africa and across the globe. As the first in our new line of products which are all ‘Made by Sweden’, the new XC90 is the initiator of a new era for us, and its immediate success on an international level is proof that we are on the right track.”
