Volkswagen will be racing a custom Atlas Cross Sport R in the 2020 Baja 1000.
And while this Baja truck has nothing to do with the actual Atlas (an SUV only sold in the USA), it’s still a mighty impressive machine to look at.
This racing bakkie was developed with the help of Tanner Foust and Rhys Millen.
You might think it’s powered by some ridiculously large V8 engine, but it’s actually equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol. It can develop up to 450kW, but it has been detuned to 350kW to offer the best combination of power and longevity.
