The Volkswagen Atlas is the largest member of its SUV family, but unfortunately it’s not available in South Africa.
It looks like a pretty decent SUV to us and now it’s also getting a coupé version, called the Teramont X.
The proportions of the car are slightly smaller compared to the Atlas, but VW cut the fat in all the right places. We also like the sloping roofline, short overhangs and massive grille. And let’s not forget about those dual exhausts at the rear, which actually serve a purpose.
The Teramot is powered by a 3.6-litre petrol V6 engine, good for 205kW. The all-wheel drive system will likely help get it off the line in a rather brisk fashion.
It will go on sale in China in May and Volkswagen is expected to reveal what other countries it will be heading to in the coming weeks.
Let’s hope we make that list.
