Mike Manley, ceo of Jeep in the US, has told CarAdvice that the company could offer SRT versions of the Cherokee and Renegade in the future.
There aren’t any plans to do so, but it’s nice to know that Jeep sees the potential of offering high performance variants of its latest SUVs, especially since it’s trying its best to position itself as a premium brand.
As we reported previously, Jeep also recently trademarked the Trackhawk moniker, which could just as easily fit on the back of the new Cherokee.
The name will likely make its debut on the back of a new high performance Grand Cherokee, but we can always hope for a track biased Cherokee with a supercharged 3,2-litre V6 in the future…
