As you might know, the only Ford Ranger engine option in the USA is the brand’s 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder petrol.

As standard, it packs a rather nice 201kW and 420Nm of torque and is mated to a ten-speed automatic.
The Americans obviously wanted more, because Ford Performance recently introduced a tuning package for the Ranger.
The upgrade consists of high-flow K&N air filter and engine calibration. The result is an additional 34kW and 81Nm of torque. That takes the total to 235kW and around 500Nm of torque.
At the current exchange rate, the package retails for R15 000 and if fitted by Ford, comes with a three year/58 000km warranty.
