The all-New Jaguar F-Pace debuted in South Africa at the recent Jaguar Simola Hill Climb event and goes on sale locally n July 2016. Jaguar’s SUV will be the company’s first to offer its all-new, premium infotainment system: InControl Touch Pro.
This touchscreen system will offers features that include live traffic updates for the satellite navigation and the ability to use a supported smartphone to control certain functions of the F-PACE remotely. The F-PACE will also be available with Jaguar’s Activity Key – a waterproof, shockproof wristband with an integrated transponder.
There is a choice of two infotainment systems, namely InControl Touch and InControl Touch Pro. The Incrontrol Touch – the same system that is currently fitted to the Jaguar XE, XF and F-TYPE – will be fitted standard to all F-Pace models, while the InControl Touch Pro will be available as an upgrade.
The standard InControl Touch comes with an eight-inch touchscreen and both systems are available with the InControl Connect pack as an optional extra.
The InControl Touch Pro has the following features:
- 10.2-inch touchscreen
- quad-core processor and gigabit Ethernet connectivity
- a solid state drive
- a customizable a 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster
- DualView technology that will allow passengers to watch video content on the 10.2-inch central display without distracting the driver
Available as an additional option, the InControl Connect (or InControl ConnectPro) allows the car to act as a Wi-Fi hotspot, enabling up to eight mobile devices to connect to the internet. Data services are made possible through an on-board SIM card slot and drivers can choose to use a network provider of their choice. InControl Apps offers support for popular applications and Android and Apple devices are supported through a dedicated USB port.
When using the waterproof Activity Key wristband to lock the new F-Pace, it will disable any key fobs left inside the car. Activity Key locks and unlock the vehicle when it is held in close proximity to the J of the Jaguar lettering on the back of the vehicle.
