Volkswagen will be showing off a new special edition of the facelifted V-6 powered Amarok at the Hannover Commercial Vehicle Show, later this month.
The facelifted Amarok comes with a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine and is expected to debut in South Africa in the second half of 2017 (although this engine has not yet been confirmed for the SA market).
The headline addition to the range is the new Canyon edition and this double cab Amarok is based on the Comfortline model (which is also being shown for the first time in its facelifted version at the exposition) and comes with all-wheel drive, 17-inch alloys, and matte black trim for the side steps, sports bar, door handles, b-pillars, and cargo bed coating.
The Canyon and Comfortline’s 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel delivers 150kW and 500Nm, mated to either an eight-speed autobox and permanent four-wheel drive or a six-speed manual with part-time four-wheel drive.
The range toping V6 TDI mill will be available in the higher end Amarok Aventura and Highline grades.
